Jane Bryant, our Chair Of Trustees, is recognised in Mayor of Winchester Community Awards 2024

On Thursday 7th March 2024 our Chair Of Trustees, Jane Bryant, was recognised in the Mayor of Winchester Community Awards 2024 in a special ceremony at Winchester Guildhall.

The Mayor of Winchester’s Community Award recognises and celebrates the organisations and individuals who have given outstanding service to the people of the Winchester District.

The aim of these awards is to celebrate the selfless activity that brightens the lives of many residents, and makes the District a wonderful place in which to live.

Presented by the Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Angela Clear, Jane was nominated with reference to a range of voluntary arts, music, and heritage roles, including her work to fundraise, oversee, and manage key aspects of St John’s Heritage Project and the St John’s Organ Project with its education and community programme, as well as her role with us at Winchester Poetry Festival as our Chair of Trustees. Also noted was her commitment to choral participation including the Candover Valley Choir.

Jane said much of this was about working with wonderful teams of people each of whom did an extraordinary amount of work. She also felt a huge sense of humility in hearing about the exceptional work other awardees were all doing to reach and support those often in very challenging circumstances.

Jane is a pro-active and integral part of the team here at WPF and we are delighted that her considerable community work and involvement has been recognised and celebrated through this award. Brava Jane!
