Below you will find a selection of helpful information on how to get here, where to stay and what to do.

How To Get Here 

The majority of events for Winchester Poetry Festival 2025 will take place at The ARC

​

The ARC, Jewry St, Winchester SO23 8SB

​

Where possible we encourage attendees and festival artists to travel via public transport, in line with our Environmental Policy.

​

Cycling

There are bike racks situated outside the front of the building. 

 

Bus

A bus stop is located right outside our main entrance - buses stopping there are, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, X24/25/26, 68, 86, 95/95A/96/96A, 99/X99.

The Park and Ride stops a few minutes walk away at the Southern end of Jewry St.

Train

The ARC is a few minutes walk from Winchester station along City Road then turn right into Jewry Street.

​

Road

Please car share where feasible.

From the M3, leave J11 when coming from the south or J9 from north and follow signs to the city centre. There is limited pay-and-display parking at the rear of the venue, including 2 designated (free) disabled spaces in the car park for Blue Badge holders.

Other local public car parks are well signposted.

Where to Stay

You can choose from a variety of accommodation options in the heart of Winchester's city centre and in the surrounding Hampshire countryside.

 

Where possible we encourage travelling attendees and festival artists to use local independently run hotels for their stays.

​

There are top-class hotels for an extra special stay or a wide range of both bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation.

What to Do

During your visit to the Winchester Poetry Festival do take the opportunity to see what else this vibrant city has to offer.
